Child Safety for Window Blinds
This
year has already seen children seriously and fatally injured after becoming
entangled in window blind cords. Whilst we are making every effort to
mark the dangers on our products with our red triangle safety tags,
it is clear that further work needs to be done to convey the dangers
to our end users.
We
have a number of child safety devices available in the form of easy
break connectors and wall cleats to hold loose and looped cords, most
of which are inexpensive, but would need the end users approval to use.
We are planning to change permanently the connector on our plastic roller
chain to the easy break connector at no extra cost. The popularity of
metal chains is of concern as no such easy break connector exists.
